Bathroom Organization

Although bathrooms are generally small, they often contain many items, and it is crucial to keep this area organized well, so that it operates smoothly in crunch time when you’re pressed for time to get ready. As a bathroom organizer, I always begin by clearing out the entire space, and sorting into 4 piles (Keep, Trash, Donate, and Sell). Then clean the entire area and create zones such as “Tooth and Mouth Care”, “Hair and Makeup”, “Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner”, “Cleaning Supplies”, “Towels and Linen”.

Bathroom Organization Ideas

  • Utilize a “Two-Tiered Stand” on your vanity which will most likely house the things you use every day (Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Mouthwash, Q-tips, Hand Towels, and Perfume or Cologne).

  • Hair Tool organizer bin which houses all of your hair products, combs, brushes, and irons.

  • Hanging baskets attached to a wall for extra toilet paper, candles, towels, and air fresheners.

  • Towel hooks as opposed to rods because the towels dry better.

  • Over the shower caddy for soap, shampoo conditioner, razors, and wash clothes.

  • Build a second medicine cabinet behind a full length mirror.

  • Hang products from a curtain rod using squeeze clips.

  • Use a wine rack to hang rolled up towels.

  • An old wooden ladder used as shelving above the toilet works well and looks great.

  • Install a magazine rack on the wall next to the toilet to conserve space.

  • Use a “file box organizer” to hold your hair irons and hair dryer.

  • Use small plastic bins and dividers in drawers to keep your vitamins, makeup, and products separate and easy to find.

  • DIY floating, wooden shelves look great above the toilet area.

  • Attach mason jars to a slab of wood on any wall to house your makeup tools, q-tips, cotton balls, and other similar items.

  • Magnets on walls work well for nail clippers, tweezers, scissors, hairpins and such.

  • If you have lots of makeup, nail and hair materials you can utilize a “Cosmetics Carousel”.

  • Repurpose a shoe organizer to house bottles, products, and lotions.
